Heritage
A Legacy of Trust and Experience.
The Tank family traces its origins to Northern Europe, where it was associated with financial administration and advisory roles within royal and state structures. Historical references note recognition during the era of Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor, reflecting early proximity to the financial and political frameworks of the time.
In the 17th century, Martin Tank served in the administration of Christian IV of Denmark, later assuming diplomatic and advisory responsibilities across European courts. In the following century, Carsten Tank contributed to the early financial foundations of modern Norway.
In 1825, Jacob Tank was associated with the establishment of Trust Diskont Bank, reflecting a transition from advisory roles into structured banking activity and cross-border finance. This development marked the family’s early participation in institutional capital formation during a period of expanding global trade.
Across subsequent generations, members of the family remained engaged in the stewardship of capital through periods of economic and geographic transition. In more recent history, Solomon Levy Tank extended this tradition into the Americas, focusing on private capital and long-term asset management.
Today, this legacy informs the philosophy of Tank Bank Corporation—where continuity, discipline, and discretion are applied to a modern financial infrastructure.
